Amplifier and Subwoofer Install
The Mark Levinson Premium Audio System in the IS-F is perfect bar one small thing, the bass is just a bit lacking when you listen to stuff with a bit of punch. The 8″ open air sub just couldn’t deliver the kind of performance we wanted.
Using the previous gear from the JZX100 we decided this time to build a custom box using high quality plywood (instead of traditional MDF) made to fit exactly between the strut towers and with an ideal design for the sub (2.5 cubic inch volume and slot ported).
All wiring is 2 gauge thickness and it powers a Digitalis DD1-1300S amplifier feeding 1300wrms (1 ohm) to a Kicker S12L7 subwoofer.
The amplifier is mounted on the back of the box and strategically placed so that you can adjust it though the centre pass through hole.
